Client Need
Schmidt’s Wholesale, Inc. needed to update it’s promotional print materials to carry through their 2018-2019 business to business communication campaign to highlight “Same Day Delivery”. Promotional print materials included a pre-season heating special catalog mailer, a quarterly coupon book, and a “March Chances” contest promoting a line of products tied into NAACP’s March Madness. We also created a new vehicle wrap to draw attention to the delivery vehicles that are on the road each day doing the deliveries.

Schmidt’s Wholesale Sub Branding
The vehicle wrap was designed to envelop the entire van promoting Schmidt’s store locations, contact information, same day shipping, and their services of plumbing, heating, HVAC, electrical, and water pump supplies. In addition, we designed a mascot of sorts, where he is dressed in work clothes, holding a wrench, and is promoting Schmidt’s same day delivery. The center of the wrap focuses on Schmidt’s logo and color scheme, with the logo at a 45 degree angle to make it more noticeable.
We designed promotional mailers and images for Schmidt’s March Chances contest to promote Navien’s boiler line and select electrical items while giving qualifying customers to be entered in a college basketball bracket to potentially win $1,000. Like the vehicle wrap, the March Chances promotions retained Schmidt’s logo and color scheme. Schmidt’s used the promotion in direct mailers, on their website, and on Facebook.
Another of the business to business communication campaigns was the Pre-Season Heating Special Catalog Mailer. This was a targeted mailing to their existing customers and some sourced data in their geographic area. The promotion was highlighting their “Point – Click – We Ship” Same Day delivery, showcasing their new delivery van, as well as engaging customers to spend dollars on certain products to receive gear from Milwaukee’s new heated gear and apparel line. Customers had the opportunity to interact on social media channels if they spotted the new delivery an “in the wild” to tag @schmidtswholesale and be entered to win a special prize.
Finally, a promotional campaign we worked on was Blackboard Specials coupon book. The direct mailer, sized 2″ x 4″, is a booklet with double sided coupons promoting various weakly deals. This was promoted as a direct mailer, through their website, and Facebook. Both campaigns demonstrate that strong design allows for effective promotions across traditional print campaigns and digital mediums.
The Result
We successfully launched several business to business communication campaigns ranging from a vehicle wrap, data sourced geographical direct mailers, and contests all with a consistent brand identity and strategy.
