Client Need
What did Hamlet ask one fateful night? “To Brie or not to Brie? That is the question.”
It was a pleasure to work with Theresa rebranding The Cheese Plate in New Paltz! The Cheese Plate has been a New Paltz staple since 2002 and in 2012 Theresa and her husband, Jeff, had the opportunity to purchase the business and they jumped right in! At any given time, they have between 60-80 cheeses in their cases and they come from all over the world and right to our own backyard. They are especially proud of the large selection of local and regional cheeses. Their cheese is cut to order, meaning that you can have a snack size slice, a “chunk” for a larger gathering, or any size in between. And, they encourage you to taste it as part of their in-shop experience. We elevated their branding through a new logo design and developing a mobile responsive website built on the WordPress platform, allowing them to maintain and update the site in the future.
Gilday Creative Plan
Theresa met with us after being immersed in the business for a few years and wanted to really change the image of the shop. We started with creating a new logo that reflected Theresa’s organic style and love of handmade and homemade materials. When you walk around the retail section of the shop you will see her carefully curated items and products. We wanted to show that the while you can get the best cheese around at the shop, it’s more than just cheese. We then created new business cards, printed menu cards, and collaborated with Timely Signs in Kingston to create beautiful new internal and external signage.
The Result
We started the branding process with a new logo that could be used on business cards, menu cards, and internal and external signage. We also built a new custom developed WordPress powered responsive website to tell the world about their business. We created custom chalkboard graphics to bring the shop experience to the internet. The website contains their menu and showcases their gift ideas. One of the strengths of developing WordPress sites for clients is that they have the ability to update their content, giving them full ownership of their website.
