Client Need

Building One Community (formerly Neighbors Link Stanford) came to us in 2015 needing a updated design for Annual Reports. An annual report is a publication that a nonprofit distributes to display what the past year’s data: fundraising efforts, impact statements, and financial information. Building One Community (B1C) came to us to create a printed document that could demonstrate accountability and trustworthiness to donors, staff, and the community they serve.

Gilday Creative Plan

We worked with their marketing team to review best of breed annual reports from other organizations, how they felt they set themselves apart from other organizations doing similar work, and what their ultimate goals were with this important document. Not only was this annual report needed for donors, but it was their premiere marketing piece to solicit more donations and funding for the under served community they work with. Our solution was to showcase large full page photographs of the center’s participants to help create a story and show how B1C affects and changes lives. To complement that, we designed the annual report with modern, yet warm typography and clean layouts.

The Results

Our first annual report design laid the groundwork and relationship for many years of future annual reports, as well as working with B1C to create invitation suites for fundraising events, seminars, and panel discussions and digital and social media graphics to promote events and issues affecting their community members.
