Putnam Humane Society Website
Gilday Creative, a website and graphic design studio, has designed new branding and developed and launched a new website for Putnam Humane Society, the winner of Gilday Creative’s non-profit animal rescue website give-away, Friend of Finn. Putnam Human Society, based in Carmel, NY, received the majority of the 3,496 votes cast during six days of public voting on Gilday Creative’s Facebook page and website in August, 2013.
The website, www.puthumane.org, highlights the organization’s cause, events, tips on caring for animals, and contains an adoptable pet gallery that utilizes photographs, video, and rich descriptions to properly showcase available animals to potential adopters. Most importantly, the website was developed on a content management system (CMS), which will allow Putnam volunteers to freely update the website to keep content current. They no longer need to depend on slow or unresponsive website developers to do updates and or worry about the added expense of paying them. This means more funds staying at PHS, going back to the animals, to get them into forever homes.
Sheila Gilday, Principal and Creative Director of Gilday Creative, said, “We’ve enjoyed working with Putnam Humane Society and are proud to provide them with new branding and a new website. We’re confident that the website will be a powerful marketing tool for them, ensuring more rescue animals find safe and loving homes. We love that they will be able update their own site, allowing their site to remain current and dynamic for years to come. “
PHS had a wishlist for their new website that was almost as big as their hearts, and we were happy to give them just about everything they asked for and more. The thing was, most of the items they wanted weren’t that big at all, and generally come standard with our website packages!
What were they looking for in a new website? Here are few details from their wishlist:
- The ability to update their website themselves.
- Mobile device compatibility.
- A way to showcase more information about their dogs / cats.
- Upgraded Branding.
