Union Grove Distillery | Logo and Packaging Design

Union Grove's Vodka bottle labeled with our custom designed label.Client Needs: A distillery, located in the Catskill Mountains, needed a package design for their bottles and associate branding for its peripheral merchandise.

Our Approach: Their main distillery logo, which we created to evoke the feeling of an old historical marker one might see driving around the historic Catskills. We also designed bottle labels and product packaging for their evolving product line.

Working with Union Grove Distillery in Arkville, NY, the team of Gilday Creative helped new distillers, Brian Mulder and Todd Pascarella, develop their emerging brand into a successful product launch with innovative packaging design and integrative branding. We created their Vly Creek Vodka packaging labels which includes some flavor variations, a maple rum that’s made from maple syrup sourced from a local producer, and their recently launched whiskey and bourbon lines.

Designing labels for the  bottles wasn’t as straight forward as designing labels for other products. It requires regulatory knowledge on our part to select the correct wording and appropriate font sizes.  Another challenge for the label design was the bottles are curved and taper out from the bottom to the top.  We had to calculate the correct angle of the label so that appears straight on the bottle, but the label itself has angled edges.

If you’re ever taking a drive up Route 28 into Arkville, stop by for a tour of the distillery and give it a try! Tell them Gilday Creative sent you.
